All About History issue 73 (Hitler)
My final issue of All About History was an opportunity to go out on a high.
On sale 3 January 2019, normally this would be a very poorly performing issue but based on historic sales data I knew that it was possible to buck the trend if I deployed the right editorial elements. The cover continued the new simplified art commission we introduced in All About History issue 72 and the magazine was absolutely stacked with attention grabbing topics, from Adolf Hitler to the historical Jesus to the rise and fall of the Romanov dynasty to the perils of royal inbreeding.
Testament to this strategy: the mag sold 24% over budget and up 4.9% on the 2018 average, More impressive yet, it kept pace with All About History issue 72, which was bagged with Tudor gifts.
Not a shabby legacy, is it? Find out more at MyFavouriteMagazines.co.uk.
