Coronel and the Falkland Islands (Britain at War issue 143)

My first proper commission for Britain at War was a new standing feature called Decisive Action. This was my first time writing about a naval engagement, but it was an opportunity to prove myself and earn a place in Britain’s biggest military history magazine.

I tried to balance the level of technical detail that readers of such a specialist title come for, while at the same time making sure that none of the human drama was lost. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

Coronel and the Falkland Islands appeared in Britain at War issue 143, priced £4.80. Find out more at britainatwar.keypublishing.com.
